I was distraught to find myself with no bookmarks. It would have made a lot of sense for the sync to be disabled on April 30, then at least you would not lose the bookmarks on May 1. With sync going on after Mar 1 and no data available, all the bookmarks ceased to exist. Then I thought, hmmm, I have a laptop that has not been started since April. So, I turned off the wifi switch on the laptop, charged it a bit and started it up. All my bookmarks were present except for whatever I fudged together since May 1. So I entered the bookmarks manager in my browser and export all my old bookmarks to my computer. Then I emailed that set of bookmarks to myself. On my current desktop, I exported my bookmarks also, making sure to give it a different name.
Then I combined the two sets of bookmarks and reconciled them. Voila! Almost all bookmarks recovered.
I wonder, will lastpass users suffer the same fate whenever someone at corporate decides to pull the rug out from under us?
