I would like an archive specifically for those websites such as managed technical support access that do not allow users to delete their accounts.

Mark Accounts Defunct

Postby aeonoftime » Thu Jan 03, 2019 1:59 pm

I would like a checkbox to mark accounts defunct. This would mean the account does not exist in the real world but would not be included in drop down boxes or password security challenges as they no longer exist. I understand why from a security perspective you might not want to forget about the account, but it makes for a lot of noise when trying to work.

There is one big problem with identities as a solution:

You cannot see shared folder entries unless you are in the 'All' (default) identity. So, I have a few dozen active sites I share with my wife, and use regularly. But to have them show up normally, I have to see sites from all identities negating the usefulness of that as a solution.

I wouldn't care which problem was fixed. So +1 for archive, or +1 for shared folders in identities. Right now -1 for ignoring your customers.

And don't let me get started on switching between enterprise accounts.

Archive logins for defunct sites

Postby nazarak » Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:05 pm

Tried searching documentation for a similar feature, and tried searching forums for a similar query.

I'm updating passwords on a lot of logins using security challenge. However several of the sites it's prompting me to update are defunct sites that I can no longer login to, or change password. I would like to keep the accounts saved,* just in case. Is there a way to tell Lastpass that there's nothing I can do about it, so don't remind me to change the password in security challenge?

I've taken to moving these kinds of logins to a "defunct" folder, but security challenge doesn't display what folder a login is in, so given that I forget about these old sites, I don't recognize them on sight either, so I end up clicking launch on all of them, which is a waste of time overall.

In general, it'd be useful if security challenge displayed what folder a login belongs to, for the sake of me remembering which is what anyway, as I have a few logins that simply can't be powerful (libraries don't tend to give you more than short alphanumeric passwords, etc.)

*I've had a few sites go defunct, then reappear after a parent company gets bought out or the like. I'm forgetful of old sites, so I'd rather have a record of old ones that I had accounts on in the case of the login being reused later, so I can remember to change the password in future.

A special archive folder that is hidden or collapsed by default in the normal items view and ignored by searches and security challenges should be relatively simple to develop. It would be more user-friendly than any of the workarounds suggested. The problem is, after 7-8 years, it's obvious no one in LastPass/LogMein is listening or cares.

I was just searching to see if this feature exists, so I'd like endorse the feature. After a decade, you get accounts that you don't actively use, or for sites that disappeared, but want to keep the info saved in case of data breaches or old sites reviving.
