Trans-border protection aka Travel Mode

Postby m965 » Tue May 23, 2017 10:34 pm

1Password has just released Travel Mode that allows you to nominate a subset of login credentials that are accessible when you are travelling (e.g. through border control where you may be asked / compelled to divulge login credentials). You are locked out of the rest until it's safe for you to access them (once you've cleared border control).

Seems like a good idea. Is LastPass planning to develop a similar solution?

I was all set to move to 1Password for this new Travel mode and better support for security questions.

Then I noticed they don't support Chromebooks.

Five months have passed, is Travel Mode on the LastPass roadmap? A sorely needed feature for anyone who travels.

What's the point?? The US, for example, will see immediately all your important passwords are missing. You're still with-holding the info. It would only ever work if the physical data isn't on your device, not just protected with another password.

Otherwise just delete your LP app/extension before you land. Then who can ever tell you have a LP account. Occam's razor at its best!

With many countries implementing laws that allow the arbitrary imaging of innocent peoples devices simply because they are travelling, the ability to remove selected information from a device is the type of feature that any privacy / security related service should consider mandatory. How long until a travel mode will be implemented?
