Premium pricing

Postby vaclavz » Mon Apr 08, 2019 9:19 am

Hi,

I love LastPass. I really do. I'm happy premium user. But. First year $12 - it was awesome price. Second year $24 - it was fair price for the functionality. This year you ask me for $36 which is limit price and I'm a little bit disappointed, but I'll pay it to you. But if next year price would be more than $36 I'll look for alternative or stick with my browser's password manager. It is nice you are adding a lot of features I don't need, but I'm on premium plan just because I want my passwords synchronized between computers and mobile devices. And the price is starting to be an issue for me. Next time I might spend few hours by migrating to other service.

You don't need premium for this. The free tier now has mobile sync as well.

I agree with vaclavz about the price. $12 for the first 4 years, then $24 and now $40.68!!! I'm going to take it off auto renew.

Same here. I've had Premium since 2012. I was fine paying $12 year, and I begrudgingly paid double that last year. But now tripling of the price in less than 24 months directly motivated me to investigate other options. I'll be voting with my feet when my Premium expires next month. Moving to Bitwarden. It's been nice knowin' ya LastPass.

I also will be leaving if the price increases again. $12 was a good deal. Tripling the price in 3 years is unacceptable. Increase it again and I'll be switching to the free version or a different product.

Sure ! I give up.
For 5 years, I've been using LastPass.
Last year, I doubt but finally I paid the doble price.
This years, I give up to pay triple price.
Good bye lastpass !

For some reason i'm still paying $12 a year even though the price change affected "existing" subscribes..... This could also be why no premium support, but at least could have told me.

In fact, i'm hoping my yearly fee *doesn't* change when it renews in late 2019

Seems they can always slowly catch on with offering a great product, then users will pay because they like using it, regardless of the cost inreasing. . :P And the exceuse you can always say is "we are offering better features"

I concur. I think you should reduce the price back to $24. I have renewed at $36 because I'm too busy to migrate and I've only just become aware of the price hike. I'll be investigating alternatives.

LastPass is an excellent password manager but their price inflation is gargantuan. I paid 12$, 24$, but I will not pay 36$. After some research, I switched to Bitwarden without any problem and the import of my data was done with ease. Free BitWarden is an ad-free multiplatform because it is OpenSource. A 10$/year premium option offers some additional features.
