Only sorta works - not really - ok sometimes

I started using LastPass because we have used it at work recently. However, this product SEEMS to work in a limited fashion.. Filling in a password is fine. Even detecting that I just changed the password is cool (when it realizes, but that's not always.) I will describe in greater detail the various use cases that seem to fail. Support has said clear the local cache, logout/in and try again. I just spent the last hour demonstrating to myself I still have problems.

I use Chrome. I use Chrome profiles. That means I have to install LastPass on each Chrome profile. In general, this seems wonderful because it works to provide passwords set on one profile to carry though to the next profile under my single master account.

The problem is, sometimes/often, LastPass knows an old password on a different profile, and then doesn't update the chrome page password field. The password is IN THE VAULT, but won't automatically come out. At least once, by either defect or fat fingers, the wrong password then got updated in the vault. GAWD, SAVE ME!

Perhaps LastPass was meant for simpler use, but this use case of mine should be no different than using LastPass across multiple devices. If I am on 3 laptops and a tablet and an iPhone, i'd expect the last user update to be ubiquitously available to all the other devices.

Having gone through the cache clearing sequence, I find it neither works nor if it did would it be practical across a multitude of devices or profiles. Again, perhaps LastPass was designed from some simple(ton) use case.

The offline/in-memory vault is updated periodically on a certain interval. When you switch over to another profile/device and immediately use LastPass, the offline/in-memory vault for that new profile/device might not have received the update.

"Refresh sites" should work better than "clear local cache".

"Certain interval" is not the problem. The MAIN problem amongst several, is that LastPass looks up the site, and not sure at all what it does with the account, but clearly, it does NOT pair site and login to match corresponding password correctly. So, I go to gmail with one account, and then go there with another account, and sometimes, mostly often, I have to tell LastPass to save the info in my vault manually. So I go to gmail with a secondary account (I many have many of these) and LastPass does NOT match site and user account, instead it usually takes site and 1st known account as the password.

I find this is so problematic that I typically just keep a text file of site, account, password which is a sad situation but WAY MORE RELIABLE than LastPass.

If the NSA or LogMeIn ever gets into your code, I hope they fix this for you, so that the right password is retrieved or updated according to the site, useraccount pair, cuz you guys are broken.

Are you sure you don't have the username/password for whatever site (I guess it sounds like gmail.com in this case) saved in Lastpass with the "auto login" enabled?... OR... do you have "gmail.com" (as a saved Lastpass login) set up incorrectly in "URL Rules?" (account settings-->URL Rules). Looks like Lastpass adds some of these by default, pertaining to google sites... you may need to change those.

I'm in a similar situation in that I use 4 different chrome profiles that were linked to 4 different gmail accounts (and their own saved info). But for me.... Lastpass, so far, is working correctly in all of them (mind you, I exported all of my accounts' usernames/passwords, combined them into one CSV file, then uploaded that merged CSV file to Lastpass).
