[Advanced]Sync Chrome "Other Search Engines" with Firefox?

Postby slzxasqw » Sun May 29, 2016 6:22 am

Hello,

Firefox supports keyword search based "quick searches" (name coined by Netcaptor, long ago)
Chrome used to support this, to an extent and has now changed how it works by populating a section called "Other Search Engines" as you use the browser.

Regardless, both of them work from a "%s" based passthrough for the URL though.
Example configuring one for imdb will result in the same thing
"http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=%s"

While I understand it's PROBABLY quite complicated compared to the existing code, would it be possible for an Xmarks developer (or another coder who wants my money) to allow Chrome and Firefox to sync not only bookmarks but SYNC THE KEYWORD SEARCHES.
I live and die by these as a very heavy browser and the inability to sync them over the years kills me.

Any thoughts?

I THINK this problem has been fixed many years later. Don't quote me but I thnik imported quick search / alias based searches are now working cross platform.
