Wickr - What do people think of it's security model?

Postby jafo » Mon Jun 01, 2015 11:06 am

https://www.wickr.com/how-wickr-works/

I've been a paid LP member for years.

Currently, I am looking at secure communications; specifically, Wickr.

I would like to hear what the security conscious denizens of the LastPass community (and programmers) think of it.

thanks,

Jafo

The founders of Wickr certainly have good credentials, but the truly security paranoid would have to take the developers at their word that there is no backdoor. At least with LastPass the JavaScript is readable by anyone, though nearly all of us use the binary extension, which is not. I have Wickr installed, but don't know anyone else using it to exchange messages with. I also don't know if there has been any sort of external audit of it.
