Lastpass Version numbering

Postby iandol » Tue Oct 15, 2013 5:09 pm

One very annoying feature of the lastpass builds is version numbering. I've been using the latest chrome prebuilds which say they are V2.5.5, but more than 1 different build have said V2.5.5 (apparently there is a minor_minor string which doesn't get shown) -- I then download the V3.0 prebuild tonight, and it tells me it is V2.5.23. Then I do an "Info..." on the V2.5.23/V3.0 prebuild and the info page tells me:

Code: Select All Code
Version: 2.5.0
Built: 2013-10-15 12:23:06
Binary Component: false

Please use consistent and logical version numbering for the various builds floating around. Will post a separate thread about my first impressions, but looking much improved!

Yeah, seriously: I just downloaded the v3 prebuild and it still calls itself v2.5.5. C'mon guys!

Hm, the chrome V3.0 prebuild should be V2.5.25 (which still says V2.5.0 in the about page) at the moment!

Ah, I must have needed a relaunch or something: I am indeed seeing 2.5.0 (I'm using Safari):
LastPass Safari Toolbar
Version: 2.5.0
Built: 2013-10-18 10:19:13
Binary Component: true (NPAPI)

The comment stands, however: v3.0 should be called v3.0.…
