Thanks for the report (and all of the details!)

I will provide a new build within the next day or so that will allow you to disable some features that are likely to blame (and you are likely not using).

My guess is this might be related to the IE Anywhere feature (which is turned on by default in LP for Apps).

Unfortunately, we don't get registration events for all new browser windows, so we have to poll. We have added a few new preferences to turn off IE Anywhere and Polling in this version:

https://lastpass.com/lastappinstall.exe

Please turn off polling and check if that fixes it. You can also optionally turn off IE Anywhere (although I would suspect that wouldn't make a measurable difference).

Let us know if this doesn't fix it and we will have to debug further.

Installed your new code - Tried with and without disabling IE Anywhere. In both cases the CPU % was normal (e.g. zero % unless LassApp was open).

I will watch the app'l over the next few days and let you know if anything changes but cannot imagine that it will change.

Thank you for the prompt response.

Update to previous post.
Didn't have your new code loaded based on the preferences window. With the "Do not poll to inject....." box unchecked, CPU cycles 6 to 16 percent. With the box checked then CPU drops to zero unless LastPass is open.

What is the benefit to having IE Anywhere included with Lastpass for Applications? Is it just so that you don't have to install the full IE plugin?

You lose a few things if you disable the IE extension (an in-browser vault, control over some preferences, ability to launch from vault in tray, etc), so it probably isn't recommended but certainly is an option.

The main benefit is probably for people who want to use us in other IE based browsers. We debated whether to turn it on and since the functionality comes basically free (aside from the polling), we thought it is only a plus.
