Cant Automaticly Login the Flash-Site: MegaUpload.com

Postby MR-LostPass » Thu Oct 30, 2008 8:07 pm

Hello,

at first Great Software, 4 Free!!!!!

and now i have my first little problem with autologin for one of my mostused sites, megaupload.com.

I wont to log in with my free account and lastpass did'nt notice that a login happens.

A fix for this site would be great.

Greetings from Germany, Daniel

We don't support Flash yet -- we're looking into it...

Yeah, i dont knowing this before.

But this site i found a solution until you have foudn a way to support Flash.
wich this link:
http://www.megaupload.com/rewards/

But i ask my self, why is it so hard to support Flash-Sites, is there not any way to see Inputfield?

Another Flash-site where found until not a solution is:
SeeqPod.com.

I write them a email:

Hello,

i want to use my new LASTPASS Password manager together with your
site, but there is a problem, i cant login automaticly, because, the
LastPass Password Manager did not support flash based login panels.

Because of this, i want to ask you if you could help them to make it
possible.
Forum: http://forums.lastpass.com/
Or perhaps you could change your Sign-In Panel to a non-Flash Panel or
give me and other PassWord manage user, the chance to save an our
login data.

Greetings LostPass

The answear me:

Hey LostPass,

I recommend you write to last pass and ask them to develop flash
support. Another more flexible password manager I recommend is called
"Password Safe;" it allows you to cut and paste passwords, so your can
input them into any field.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Cheers,

Casey

I dont check the ""Password Safe;" Manager, because i love your Manager to much, but is it not perhaps a solution for us:
"Password Safe;" it allows you to cut and paste passwords, so your can
input them into any field.

This funktion, togther with a little screenshot support, wich checks the login area.

I just want to bump this and say that for someone who works with Flash on a daily basis, it is a hard, most likely impossible task for multiple reasons:

Flash is not handled by the browser but rather the Flash Player. The browser by extensions allows LastPass to fill in forms, but again, Flash isn't handled by the browser. The Flash Player has no way of extending it and allowing it to fill in forms.

For those who understand web development, HTML and the DOM standards in websites and allow a rich API for modifying the style and content of sites, which allows them to do LastPass's dirty work and fill in forms. Flash works off a non-editable SWF format which does not provide the same standard of APIs to allow LastPass to do anything with. Flash was originally made for animations, and it would be a very complex task to allow LastPass to detect that it needs to fill in forms.
