handful of sites not working with lastpass

Postby h0pc » Mon Sep 08, 2008 10:55 pm

I've been converting my roboform database by hand as a method of trimming out old, useless logins and also to create better organization than I had under rf. As a result I've got a handful of sites that aren't cooperating with lastpass. I'll likely have more to add to the list later.

I think these all use the same forum software:
forum.notebookreview.com
howardforums.com
abhdtv.net
avsforum.com

hulu.com
sportsline.com
bmwusa.com

(I guess you'll get a sense of the sites I go to if I post enough of these!)

Hi,

I tried out a few of these sites (hulu, sportsline) and since they use javascript to dynamically show the login form, you need to choose the Recheck Page option.

We should be adding functionality in our next build that should eliminate the need for you to do this. It should come up at the end of this week.

Let us know after you have upgraded if you are still experiencing problems.

Thanks
Bob

Here's what I'm trying (using Hulu as an example):

1. Ensure there are no hulu's in my lastpass list already
2. type in address of www.hulu.com in the address bar
3. hit the login button - the site displays the login section
4. hit the recheck site on the toolbar
5. type in my login info
6. hit the recheck site on the toolbar again for good measure
7. hit the login button

Lastpass never prompts me to remember the password. I've tried these steps also with omitting step 4 and then a second iteration skipping step 6 just in case I was overdoing it.

I can wait until the next version rolls out. Currently I'm using the lastpass 1.3 pre-release with firefox and windows xp.

Just to shed some light on this matter, a little late perhaps, but in case anyone is still interested in this.

vbulletin forum related passcards from roboform don't import properly to LastPass. The problem, I assume, is the order of the fields in the passcard. In roboform, the fields are as follows;
vb_login_username
cookieuser
vb_login_password

After import, LastPass uses the field that used to be cookieuser as the password, and because that field is a * (that's the "keep me logged in" checkmark) it fails.

vbulletin itself works fine with LastPass, just the vbulletin + roboform + import to LastPass doesn't.

I just noticed that same thing happens with facebook logins that are imported from roboform. The relevant fields are as follows;
persistent
email
pass

The names of the fields are pretty obvious, but as the order is what it is, the imported LastPass entry will have "username" with the persistent star marker, and "password" with the email.

And same as before, LastPass works fine with facebook, the importing part is what brakes stuff.
