I am considering setting up the emergency contact access. However, in thinking this through I'm wondering how they will gain access because I have two factor authentication turned on. Can someone explain to me how setting up emergency access contact would allow them to get in when two factor authentication is turned on? Wouldn't the system recognize their device has a new device and require two factor authentication which clearly they are not going to have set up.

I'm 99% certain: The person accessing your vault does so by logging in to their own vault, and therein appears a folder, named after your vault, with your vault's contents contained inside that folder; read only. The person you give access to never needs to know your password or have your 2FA device, because they use their logon credentials, not yours.
