I am using firefox on a debian based Linux distribution, Bunsenlabs Linux
I have seen the lastpass FAQ which tells me to look in ~/.lastpass/
there is no directory called either /.lastpass/ or /lastpass/ in my home directory
or anywhere else -no sign of any lastpass files except the browser extension and a couple of icons
yet I am able to use lastpass with no problem
I need to backup the lastpass files up on my computer as I am reinstalling the operating system afresh
but they certainly arent kept anywhere obvious on my computer.
There must be a way to find them
what files or directories am i looking for?

LastPass is a cloud product. You don't need to backup any LastPass files for reinstallation. Simply sign in using your current email and master password.

The FAQ is outdated.
Your vault data is likely saved under Firefox's data directory. But Firefox's database isn't easy to understand.
