Clear Clipboard after use

Postby eXtreme51 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:51 am

Hello,

I've installed LastPass and there's one feature missing from Chrome: Clear Clipboard after use.
I've tried installing it, re-installing it from Chrome Store but nothing works.

I only have this feature available in Firefox, under advanced preferences.

Feature is also missing from Edge.

Can you please help me?
What did I overlook?

Thanks.

I believe you need to install the binary component for this to work.

Hi,

I've tried but that didn't work. Unless I'm missing something...

Hi, I've figured it out so I thought it'd best to let you know what I did.

1. Click on the extension using Google Chrome
2. Click 'Account Options'
3. Click 'About LastPass'
4. You will see a status of 'Binary Component: false' and a button next to it that says 'Enable Native Messaging'
5. Click 'Allow for the security prompt.
6. Restart Chrome

And that's it. Clear clipboard option is now available at the extension options, under 'Advanced'.

I'm interested in what you did before when you said "I've tried but that didn't work".
How else were you installing the binary component (and failed)?

Well, according to the documentation, I was told to install the 'binary' version of LastPass, which I did, but nothing happened afterwards.
It wasn't mentioned ANYWHERE (also not by you) that it will be disabled by default and that I have to go to 'About' and click 'Enable Native Messaging' (which has no literal nor figurative connection to 'Enable binary').

In my experience, the binary installer would automatically reinstall the extension in Chrome and make the settings right. Perhaps it's a different version.

I even tried to install it from the store after reading that some settings/permissions might have changed but that didn't do it either.

I'm just happy it works now because it was somewhat frustrating.

Thank you for your help!
