Authentication failure on Ubuntu with Firefox extension

Postby hexnut » Thu Nov 29, 2018 11:26 am

I am trying to use a YubiKey 5 NFC to authenticate with the LastPass extension for Firefox on Ubuntu 18.10 and am getting an authentication failure.

Here's how to replicate the problem:
1. Click the grey LastPass toolbar icon
2. Enter the Master password
3. After the Yubikey MFA popup appears, insert YubiKey and touch the button.
4. Toolbar LastPass icon turns yellow with message: "Yubikey authentication failed. Try again".

Workaround: Open a text editor, touch the YubiKey button to capture the string and then copy/paste that into the YuiKey MFA popup window. Authentication succeeds and the icon turns red.

Details:
LastPass Firefox Extension 4.19.0.5
Firefox 63.0.3
Ubuntu 18.10

I am also experiencing this problem. I've been distro hopping, so this is a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.10 that's having the issue. Oddly enough this wasn't happening on Linux Mint or KDE Neon.
