Firefox extension: copy username/password missing

Postby eis » Sat Nov 11, 2017 12:08 pm

Context menu options to copy username/password seem to be gone for my extension version 4.2.1.21. As the extension completely sucks in detecting login forms, these options are crucial. However now they are gone, so have to go to vault every time.

Is this expected?

Their binary can't talk to the extension yet:

This is Firefox 56.0.2, so that post about beta 57 doesn't apply I'd think.

It would apply since there is now a WebExtension version posted to the stable channel on addons.mozilla.org.

Submitted screen prints.

LastPass: Try this Beta version
Me: Nope, same issue.
LastPass: submit screen prints
Me: Here they are for a working, previous version and the latest non functional version

LastPass: YEP, we can duplicate the issue based upon the screen prints. NOPE, we don't know if/when the dev team will even consider fixing it.

Postby sverre944 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 4:12 pm

I can no longer right click and use LastPass to copy and past username, or password anymore.. I can only automatically fill in.... and that does not always work. very annoying. (firefox on windows)

What happened to copy password button in firefox?

Postby disbound » Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:55 am

Please bring back the quick "copy password" in the firefox addon. The one in the button, not the one in the vault. There are some login pages, like my AWS business account, where I have to login with an account number and username/password. LastPass' autofill doesn't understand that the account number and username are two different things and autofills my username twice. I've been working around this by just disabling autofill and hitting the "copy password" button, now only the edit button is there.

I don't understand the reasoning on why is was removed. Please bring it back.

Since it seems that LastPass can't fill in HTTP Auth pop-ups without the binary compatibility either, not having the ability to just copy username and password anymore for these sites I have is a huge pain. Have to login to the vault fully in a separate tab in order to retrieve them. Bitwarden, while never allowing the ability to fill HTTP Auth pop-ups to begin with, does still provide simple methods to copy username and password. If there's no plans to bring this functionality back for the webex version... this will probably be the last straw to switch (and ask for a refund.)
