If you 'share' a site with someone does it update both ways?

ok, I found out how to share a site (thanks Joe) and I think it could be useful for me. One question I have before I dive-in, if I share a site/password does it update when/if the password is changed? How about it the person I share the site with changes the password?

Thanks...Larry

p.s. in the 'nice to have' department it would be helpful to have a link to all the help files (faq's, videos, forums, more?) from the users home page. Right now if you want to see faq's for example you need to go into the forums and find the link to it. Maybe not a priority now, but an 'all encompassing' support center would be nice.

Also, I saw a neat feature of forum posts on avsforum.com. When you create a new post it searches the forums for a solution/related post while you're typing your message. Half the time you wind up abandoning your post...which helps the user and even more important decreases workload for support staff. It's an automatic implementation of the "please search before you ask us a question rule" They use vbulletin, but if you want to stick with PHPbb I'd check if they have the feature and bug'em it they don't.

</end unsolicited business advice of the day> ;)

here's a screen shot of the forum searching feature I was talking about. When you create a new post as soon as you type your subject in (in this case 'Apple TV') and tab to the message composition field they do a quick search for 'similar threads'

Right now sharing is basically a one way one time operation -- we ultimately want to improve this by offering a syncing option, but as it stands, if you change it you need to reshare it. If the person you share with changes the password, they'll need to share it back to you, so you'll need to only share with people you trust. It's not easy to get the password being shared, but it's not hard either so we recommend making a generated password first.

Yeah we're looking into ways we can mitigate the support going forward and this is a good idea -- right now though we're enjoying drinking from the fire hose because many of the questions point to actual usability problems -- people just aren't seeing the way to do something so it means we need to do a better job with our UI.

I like this idea for other forums I visit. I can see why right now Joe wants to read all of them.. but going forward after awhile, it will be nice to have.
