Help with the Windows installer (lastpass.exe)

For a while now, I get a message in Chrome (21.0) that I should install the Binary version to enable LastPass to fill in authentication dialogs.
I have done that a couple of times now, but I still get this message.
I have win 7 x64 ultimate.
By the way, why is "Lastpass x64" installed to "Program files (x86)", is it not a proper x64 application or could this be a reason for my problems?
Edit: It works fine in Firefox (15.0)...

I have the same problem. See my other post at viewtopic.php?f=12&t=82025#p275494
The installer runs, without error, but the binary version does not appear in Chrome. I'm running Window 7 32 bit.

I am having the exact same issue with Windows 8 Pro and Chrome. When I try to view images attached to a secure note, I am given a message that I need the binary version and it asks if I would like to install it. I click on the link, download and reinstall lastpass same issue. I tried removing the LP extension from Chrome and then downloading the Chrome extension with binary from LP's download site and install that and still get the same error message. Under Tools-->About, it states "Binary Component: false", even though I specifically downloaded the Chrome with binary plugin.

Have you tried manually installing the Chrome extension?
