It has happened again. I got a popup saying that there was an update to the LastPass toolbar - do I want to install? I say yes, close my browsers, install.... and again, the icons are removed from Firefox and Chrome (they are on IE and never have been on Safari, even though I have asked for them to be). Second time this has happened to me in one week.

So what is the solution? I will no longer install updates. Is that what LastPass wants? :?:

Windows 7, IE9, Firefox 13, Chrome 19.

Another issue - when installing the latest LastPass, it makes a change to my registry that no longer allows links in Outlook to be clickable. I get "General Failure. The URL was: http://www.whatever .... An error occurred in sending the command to the application."

And here is the fix: http://www.pcworld.com/article/200103/f ... links.html

There seem to be many different issues in this thread.

For people who are having trouble with IE, please try this version:
https://lastpass.com/lastpasspre.exe (32 bit)
https://lastpass.com/lastpass_x64pre.exe (64 bit)

If it still does not work, then please create a support ticket at https://lastpass.com/support.php
Be sure to include:
- a detailed description of your issue
- reference this forum post
- attach the debug file located in C:\Users\<your_windows_username>\AppData\LocalLow\LastPass\debug.txt
(best to close IE, delete the debug file, and then start IE and make the problem occur, then send it to us)

Thanks.

windows XP running IE8 and Latest firefox.
no red icon in IE 8 (It was there after first installation, and then just dissapeared), everytime I reboot it wants to install itself again, and then it wipes out my addons in Firefox. There is something seriously wrong with the last update - How can I get the previous version, that worked??

Just to add - when I right click on toolbars, I can see the toolbar unclicked, but cant choose it.

Well, whadayaknow.... LastPass 2.0 started working today on its own. I had ignored the issue for the last couple of days, and out of the blue, it just started working. Must have been something on LP's server end.

..... well, not exactly.

I started having problems again right after posting this, but couldn't relate what happened that might be paired with the unexplained on again, off again operation. Then I saw a comment about Javascript being a cause of a number of problems, so I looked at my Control Panel and discovered that I had two versions of Java: versions 6 and 7. Since Oracle's update does not remove the older version, I did this manually, and wall-ah! It now seems to work consistently. I waited a couple of days before posting this to see if it really did fix the issue and I can report that I have not had any issues with LastPass 2.02 and IE9/64bit since I uninstalled Java 6.

After working for several months, LP is back to the same old issues again. Got a Java update 9/13 and that apparently did it. I can use IE9/32 bit but 64 bit will not work anymore. I checked and only one Java install per 32/64 bit. Apparently the Java 64 bit version running under IE9 64 bit version conflicts with LastPass. I am back to IE9/32bit only to use LastPass.

LastPass doesn't use Java.
