I read through the article on your link. But I don't understand what to right click and save. If you can tell me what to right click, do I just save to to a directory somewhere? Or does it have to go to the desktop (which I basically never use).
That message generally means FF profile is corrupt, back up your bookmarks and re-install the browser, then you will be able to properly install the other add-ons.
